After researching more about what free websites are best for CV design, I came across Canva. I found that Canva is one of the few websites that actually allow you to build and download a CV for free. Whereas many other websites let you build a CV at first, but when you try to download the CV, it makes you pay for the download.

Initial sketches

Before I started to design my Cv on Canva, I had some ideas of how I want might want the general layout of my CV to look ( Very much inspired by looking at the simple UX CVs) I quickly sketched these ideas down on paper so I can use them later to remind myself of the bigger picture if my design starts to overcomplicate.

Experimenting on Canva

In canva, I started with a simple template and altered it to the general layout I sketched. Once I had the general layouts mapped out, I took my time to experiment by changing different micro elements of my CV, such as where the titles goes, adding lines and changing the sizing of my timeline element. I did this because I didn't really know what would look best, so by doing different versions, I could compare and contrast.

Each time I made a new design, I would screenshot it to remember not to do the same design again. Looking back, I had made around seven slightly different designs;
