Before I start my infographic project in illustrator, I have one last master-apprentice excise given to us by our teacher Pual.

The point was to practice our skills in making pie charts and graphs, to prepare us for our infographic project.

There are the 2 pictures I chose to replicate;

I'm very happy with how the result, it gave me confidence that I can replicate something similar for my own infographic.

To start my own infographic, I came up with a title and tried out different fonts;

I wanted something that was bubbly and fun, a font that was interesting but not over the top and hard to read. In the end, I went with the first font, I really like the curly tails.

Another important thing I needed to consider for my infographic is the colour. I created a quick mock timescale and tried out many colours, before deciding on a mix between 2 very similar colour pallets. I like the combination of cute pastel and darker blues, which is fun and inviting, but not too childish;

Next, I made the timescale accurate to the length of time each Eons represents. everything 10 little squares are 200 million years;

I first tried this design, where every image was enclosed in a circle;

After consulting with my teacher paul, I realised that the circles were not necessary. Also, the pointers were not either. In class we came up with a better design;

With this design in mind, I revamped my infographic a little;
