After class, I had a chance to talk to Dr Klye one-on-one and let him see what progress I had made so far with my project. I showed Dr Kyle the screens that I have made so far, and he gave me two pieces of feedback;

  1. I need to brand my project with a name ( and maybe a logo)
  2. There needs to be a banner/tab at the top of the screen, as currently some of the screens have a large gap at the top.

Changes according to feedback

I had a really hard time deciding what I should name my project, as initially, I was going to call it the “ sustainable development goal project”.

After a little brainstorming, I wondered if I could somehow reference “ shape” in my project name since a large part of my project is defined by the simple, organic shapes that make up the icons. When I was researching the word “shape” on google, I realised that the word shape means more than just the physical form of an object, it can also mean to influence something;

In the end, I chose the logo on the left, being made of simple shapes ( rectangles and circles) it fits the overall theme better.

For me, the names represent just like how I have used simple shapes to “ shape” the icons; the goals are used to better shape our earth. In the end, I chose “ shape our earth” because I felt it clarified the message I was trying to convey.

I also changed the slogan from “ no one left behind” to “ how will you shape up our earth ?” to better match the new project name.

For my icon, I initially made two designs, both of them round to represent the earth;

I also tried out different colour schemes before deciding that I liked the colourful one at the bottom ( all the colours in that logo are colours from the the icons)
