Having thought about the SDG from physical touchpoints, I now need to think about digital touchpoints for my student audience.

My idea is to make an app designed like a digital magazine so students can easily use it to learn more about each SDG and relevant news. I also decided to wireframe and prototype this app for the iPad since I have never designed screens for the iPad before. I think this project is a good chance to experiment with designing for a bigger screen.

Rough sketch and rough Figma prototype for the home screen;

The home screen is where all the SDGs icons are displayed. My idea was that the icons of the SDGs would be moving slowly across the screen in a loop. Therefore I made a looping animation in photoshop;

Unfortunately, when I placed this animation loop onto my prototype, I could not find a way to get the animation to run on Figma. I will keep this animation loop in my project folder to showcase what the app would potentially look like if it were able to be implemented.

On the home screen, the students can choose what goals they want to learn more about by tapping on an icon. The icon will then enlarge and show a quick summary of the goal’s mission. The background of the app will also change to become an image, and depending on what goals the student picks, the image will change to something relevant to the goal;

For better interactivity, if the student were to gently glide their figures across the screen, this motion would also momentarily enlarge whichever icon their figures glide across;
