This blog will look at the processes behind how my app name came to be.

In my first year of studying interaction design, I was introduced to online random name generators. Ever since then, I have used name generators as a good way to start the initial brainstorming. Most of these name generators work on the same principle; you have to type in 2 or more keywords and it will generate a list of names. I tried a few different words, such as “ animal adoption” and “ animal zoo”, etc for each generator.

The first app generator I used was called Namify, and unfortunately, the only decent name that was generated seemed to be “Animal Hub”;

Afterwards, I tried a few more name generators but with little success. I was ready to try another brainstorming method when I came across a website called Namelix. Namelix is an Ai powered business name generator, and the website really surprised me with how helpful it was.

To get started, you need to tell a generator a little bit about what your brand is about;

Then It will generate a page of names;

The beauty of this generator is that some of the names are extremely random and crazy, which seems counterintuitive at first, but the randomness might just provide you with some good inspiration.
