Before making the slides, I made a quick presentation plan in a word document. I learnt this through presenting in high school; if you go straight into designing the slides without a plan, it is easy to lose sight of the big picture. This rough plan is supposed to be very simple and general to allow future tweaking as I see fit; I made mine in around 10 minutes;
Initially, I wanted to name my app “OrderUp”. This term in a restaurant setting means that food is ready, and “up” relates to the fact that planes are above-ground transportation. Sadly, after research, I found there was already another app already named orderup.
Then I thought about calling it “EatUp”;
( me starting to experiment with typography)
but I gained feedback from my teacher that the name was too generic. Any other food-ordering app can use the name; it doesn't allow the app to distinguish itself from the fact that it is a food-ordering app for airplanes.
My teacher suggested the name “ Airside” ( definition: the side of an airport terminal beyond passport and customs control), but unfortunately, that name is already taken by another app.
Finally, I settled on the name “ breezi”, a fun twist to the word breezy. The word breezy relates to air and wind, which suggests that my app is used for air travel. However, breezy can also mean easy, carefree and relaxed, which is exactly what my app provides for the passengers in its attempts to make the in-flight meal process more efficient.
